Een muzikaal vaarwel
Komende nacht (9 mei) vindt om 4:00 uur op The Sixtyone een mega upload party plaats. Dit ter nagedachtenis aan de vorige maand overleden Amerikaanse bluesmuzikant Michael Paul Miller. Een uur lang zal iedere minuut een nieuwe song worden geupload, die door iedereen gratis kan worden beluisterd. De eerste upload zal een song van Michael Paul Miller zelf zijn. De namen van de overige 60 artiesten zijn onlangs bekend gemaakt op de Comment Wall van initiatiefnemer en collega Luisteraar KosmikRay.
Michael Paul Miller was voorman van het blues kwartet Blue Stew waarvan in Nederland o.a. de cd Destination: The Blues is uitgebracht.
Dat op deze bijzondere manier de laatste eer wordt bewezen aan een T61 deelnemer laat goed zien dat T61 behalve een muzieksite en een multiplayer game ook een echte online community is. Mocht je komende nacht op dat tijdstip nog online zijn, neem dan eens een kijkje op de uploadpagina van T61 (regelmatig de pagina vernieuwen). Het is geen privé ceremonie en geen droeve gebeurtenis. KosmikRay verklaarde eerder een ‘funeral with music’, zoals bekend van New Orleans, in gedachten te hebben.
