SoundRabbit wil geen fans maar aandeelhouders
De Amerikaanse folk en rockband SoundRabbit organiseert haar indie bestaan op geheel eigen wijze. Behalve dat iedereen wordt aangemoedigd de (prachtige) single releases te downloaden en door te geven, wil RBT je ook graag als community member van het door haarzelf opgerichte SoundRabbit Backstage kunnen verwelkomen.
Dat lidmaatschap kost $ 12,00 per half jaar of $ 20,00 per heel jaar. Voor dat geld ontvang je gratis alle muziek die gedurende jouw lidmaatschap wordt uitgegeven, plus alle goodies die doorgaans bij het lidmaatschap van een florerende fanclub horen.
Noem SoundRabbit Backstage echter geen fanclub. RBT ziet je contributie liever als een aandeel in de band. Behalve dat de band er haar eigen bestaan mee bekostigd, besteed ze een genereus deel van het vermogen aan allerlei goede doelen. Voor fans/aandeelhouders buiten de V.S. is dat misschien niet zo interessant, want tot nog toe ging het om fondsen die vooral voor de inwoners van dat land van belang zijn. Maar het idee verdient zeker navolging.
